Varieties

A variety that does not seem to appear in Kerr or Chan, note the sloping top left character and the broken top right character .

This is another distinctive variety where the character does not line up vertically with the character below.

As the first set but with less distinctive soft black characters "Republic of China". Part of a set of 9 values, these may be misplaced or inverted.

30f with overprint misplaced horizontally.

Very similar to the first two sets but with smaller hard black characters "Republic of China".

This set is repeated from Liao Yang, I have seen the set listed under Jinzhou in early collections and Chan has solved this riddle by explaining that the stamps were indeed sent from Jinzhou for use in Liao Yang. See Jinzhou for more details.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
