1.2y on 1y |
A very clear, four character 中華民國 Chinese Republic overprint with a surcharge value underneath. This is a complete set of three values, Chan does not mention that the 1.2y on 1y has a red overprint, although this is shown in Kerr. These stamps are known to exist with many variations, inverted, characters missing, sideways, etc., |
| This is an interesting and unrecorded variety. A mirror offset on the back of the 1Y stamp. | ||||||

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject. |
