A full set of 20 surcharges in soft black. The 5Y on 30f shown is blue/grey.  The four top characters read 中國郵政 Chinese Post, left is the surcharge and to the right Temporary Use.

Kerr does not recognise the blue/grey chop but it is mentioned in Chan. Kerr and Chan both list a further 5 stamps with an overprint of similar design, Kerr states these comes from a Russian collection (it is possible they are not authentic).

Fakes have been seen in bright violet.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
