This is a complete set of 2 stamps with an oily black chop, the upper four characters reading 中華郵政 Republic of China Post, in an unusual arrangement. Kerr does not describe these stamps as surcharges but they have clearly been re-valued at 1 Yuan as seen by the bottom two characters. |

| This is a set of three surcharges in hard red ink. The upper four characters read 中華民國 Chinese Republic, with the surcharge below in Chinese and Arabic numerals. | ||||||
