This is a set of eleven stamps with a hard purple surcharge. Top two characters 中華 China, below this 北東  North East and for the bottom row, the first two characters are the surcharge followed by 作妀 Revalued.

Note; Chan lists the following sets as belonging to a separate town called Yue Lin Tsun or 榆林Yu Lin Chen. The style and content of these overprints makes me think that all of the stamps are from the same town and Kerr is correct in this instance, although it is possible that Chan has seen some covers that prove this not to be the case.

Full set of 13 values with a black overprint. The overprint reads Temporary Use 北東  North East.

Note; Chan lists this set for a separate town with a similar name Yue lin Tsun (or Yu Lin Chen), he does not recognise the violet overprint but lists the red.

A mis-print in Kerr shows the black overprint duplicated. 15-27 should read as purple - see his corrections page.

These stamps have been identified by using Volume II of the Stamp Catalogue of China by Shui-Hon Chan and the four booklet guide The Local Overprinted Stamps of Manchuria 1945-7 by Allen D Kerr (published 1978 and now out of print). Both works are essential for anyone delving seriously into this subject.
